Meet Jeremy Roberts

You asked for it, and here he is—introducing our Account Executive, Jeremy Roberts. Here’s a little sneak peek into his work and personal life.

What do you enjoy most about working with clients in the language services industry?

What I love most about working in the language service industry comes down to the exact reason I got into the industry – helping others. Something that was extremely eye-opening to me was how much I took communication for granted, but also not realizing how much limited-English speakers struggle to be integrated into communities that are mainly English-speaking. It is amazing to not only meet new people and learn new cultures but also to understand the needs of individuals and businesses and how crucial language services are. Another aspect that brings a smile to my face is being able to help the community in which I live, which is something I have never been able to do with other industries I have been in. It hits home when you are around the community and see people who are interpreters for LP, seeing clients around town, seeing businesses that I drive by every day and knowing how much we have helped them. I am missing about 100 more things – but these are by far the biggest aspects of why I enjoy the industry so much.

How do you approach building and maintaining strong relationships with clients?

The number one approach I use for building relationships is being empathetic. Having this approach makes you a real person versus a salesperson trying to push services on someone…no one likes a pushy salesperson! Being empathetic also will lead to more clients because you are genuinely curious about the business challenges each client is facing or will be facing due to not having a language service provider (LSP). It will also help you put yourself in the client’s shoes, which makes the client feel heard and feel the trusted advisor relationship and partnership of who they are working with. Empathy goes a long way and it is something we always need to have, especially in this industry because you never know what someone else is going through.

What do you like to do during your free time to relax and recharge?

Golf, golf, golf. This is my getaway from everything. There is nothing better than being outside and in nature. Another big reason I love golf so much is EVERYONE CAN PLAY! You get to meet so many people, network, have fun, be with friends, etc., etc., etc. Now that I am a dog dad, I also love to be with my dog, whether it is on a walk or hanging on the couch. He is my true companion, and I couldn’t be happier with him.
